COLUMBUS, OH (June 2, 2013) — Riddell Law LLC has awarded its first annual Riddell Law LLC Columbus DUI Awareness Scholarship to two graduating high school seniors in the Columbus area that have demonstrated excellence in academics, community service and in teaching their peers about the dangers of drinking and driving.
After careful review of all applications, we are honored to have the opportunity to positively impact the youth in the Columbus area by awarding $750 in college scholarships to two deserving high school seniors in the Greater Columbus area.
To apply for the Riddell Law LLC Scholarship, applicants were asked to create presentations on the dangers of drinking and driving in the form of essays, PowerPoint presentations, videos and the like. Recipients were chosen after review of the applicant’s transcripts, personal statements and presentations.
Riddell Law LLC Scholarship Recipients
The first place ($500) winner of the 2014 Scholarship is Lexus Wolf. Lexus is a graduating senior at Delaware Hayes High School in Delaware, Ohio. She plans to attend Duquesne University in the Fall. At Delaware Hayes, Lexus participated in a wide range of extracurricular activities, including varsity tennis and volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters. She has received both the Silver and Bronze Awards from the Girl Scouts of America.
Additionally, Lexus was a White House Student Film Finalist. She put her film production skills to use for her application for the Riddell Law DUI Scholarship, submitting a powerful video on the dangers of drinking and driving. Her video can be viewed here:
The second place ($250) winner of the Riddell Law LLC DUI Scholarship is Rachael Knapp. Rachael is a graduating senior at Dublin Coffman High School. Rachael plans to study mechanical engineering in the Fall at The Ohio State University in Columbus. At Dublin Coffman, Rachael was a member of the color guard, a member of student government, and a volunteer at numerous community events around Dublin. Additionally, Rachael was chosen to attend Wie Rise (Women in Engineering at OSU).
