    If you have been charged with a DUI / OVI in Delaware County, your case will most likely be filed in the Delaware County Municipal Court. The Court is located at 70 North Union Street in Delaware, Ohio.

    The Delaware County Municipal Court hears all misdemeanor criminal offenses, which are criminal charges in which the penalty is less than one year in jail and / or a less than a $1000 fine.  Examples of misdemeanor cases include: most first and second offense DUI/OVI cases, domestic violence, driving under suspension, assault, petty theft, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, and criminal damaging.

    Additionally, the Delaware Municipal Court hears all traffic and parking violations from the City of Delaware and from cases transferred from Mayor’s Courts within Delaware County. Although the Delaware Municipal Court does not generally hear felony cases, a defendant facing felony charges may appear in the Delaware Municipal Court for his or her preliminary hearing or to have bail set.
