If you are charged with an OVI in Ohio, your ticket will list the statute or code under which you have been charged.
In most cases, the officer will write “4511.19A1A.” This is a reference to the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) OVI statute: 4511.19(A)(1)(a).
The officer may also write “M1”, which is a reference to the OVI charge as a first degree misdemeanor.
